We set off for Bonnie Scotland on the 24th May 2019 at 6pm opting to stay off the motorways as much as possible and using the A-1 instead. By sunset we were passing Doncaster and found a spot to park in Knottingley using the "Park4night" app.

Beautiful surroundings at our 'wild camp' in Knottingley

There was a small gravel area next to a canal where we set up camp and settled down for the night. In the morning we walked 'D' and had breakfast.

We left Knottingley and headed back onto the A-1 past Leeds to just south of Darlington and picked up the A-66 and travelled west across the Yorkshire dales to Penrith and the M-6.      We stayed on the M-6 through Carlisle and Gretna where it started raining!

We then got onto the M-74 through Lockerbie to Glasgow followed by the A-82 which took us past Loch Lomond and onto Fort William and Ben Nevis where we stocked up at Morrisons!

From Fort William we headed further into the western highlands on the A-830 past Loch Eil and Loch Nan Uamh and the towns of Arienskill and Arisaig and finally just south of Portnaluchaig and the camp site 'Portnadoran'
