The Laurenny arms

5th

Our last week begins and we are heading off towards Milford haven and Tenby with an overnight at Laurenny. We had to collect our post which Andy's Mum had forwarded on to the post office in Neyland for us. We stopped off at Tesco to re-fuel with the discounted fuel card and then passed through Milford Haven which was spectacular and into Neyland to collect the post. We found another free car park one minute away from the post office and once the post was collected we continued to the sports club Aire at Laurenny. We pulled into the car park having had no reply to email or phone calls and chatted to the grounds man who wasn’t very welcoming. He explained that although they used to have motorhomes there the land owner didn't like it much so he thought that they had stopped it now. We parked out of his way and Andy phoned the local pub, the Laurenny arms who invited us to park in their car park overnight, so we pulled out of the sports club and into the pub car park 300 metres down the lane, backing the van downhill so the sink drained!

We popped in to the pub to say 'Hi' and met Dave, the landlord who poured us a couple of pints of Nut brown ale and we sat down to enjoy the surroundings when a lovely Welsh couple just came and joined us and we chatted for half an hour about our trip and they recommended some places to visit. We finished off the afternoon with a couple of double Jameson's and retired to the van to relax. We returned to the pub in the evening to watch the 2nd half of the Brazil v Korea match  (we were the  only customers), with another lovely nut brown ale each and then off to bed for a very peaceful sleep.

A nice walk up the hill in the morning with views over the estuary. Andy got the drone out to film our pub stop and surrounding area.

Hot porridge to warm up and then back on the road for Tenby to find somewhere for tonight. We had a look on Search for sites and found a farm, The three oaks just 10 minutes' drive from Tenby town centre so we phoned and booked two nights. £20 per night with all facilities and launderette??? too.
